Lectures and Workshops
Please contact sbf5 (Sue) if you would like our staff to arrange the following lectures/workshops for your group:
Cardio Shop: Exercise choices (i.e., how often, how long, and how hard) are influenced by your current fitness level and your interests and needs. Come learn more about how to choose and monitor intensity, the advantages of planning a variety of workouts and how to plan the right training program to strengthen your heart and achieve your goals.
Positively Flexible: Come explore how yoga and/or static stretching can help relieve stress and increase flexibility. We will cover common static stretches and popular yoga postures that can be incorporated into your fitness routine.
Strength Training Basics: This lecture goes over the different types of resistance training, the basic principles of strength training, & how to pick and choose exercises for the major muscle groups of the body. Come learn how to use machines and free weights safely and effectively for a great total-body workout!
“Making Time for Fitness”: This will be a fun lecture that is designed to help you plan fitness into your college lifestyle. Yes, it’s true that classes, studying, friends, work, and sleep take up a lot of time, but we can help you find a way to fit exercise in, too!
